Yes, the Roland/Boss designers have been quite prolific recently with the digital RE-202 and RE-2 versions of the Space Echo, the SDE-3000D floor-pedal based on the SDE-3000 rackmount digital delay, and now this!

2 What’s so special about this one?

It’s completely analogue. This unit uses bucket brigade (BBD) chips in the tradition of the fondly remembered DM-2 and DM-3 pedals, but it goes way beyond their capabilities by using eight 2048-stage BBDs with targeted CPU control.

3 BBDs are old technology. Do we really need this when we could just have a digital emulation?
