01 THE OUTER
At the start of it all, we find ourselves here, staring into the eyes of our empty shell, the BeQuiet Shadow Base 800 FX. Without its fancy covers and panels, it reveals what we’ll be working with today—a multitude of cable channels, RGBness, and plenty of versatility. That’s three positives right from the off.
To get here, there are thumbscrews for the side panels that loosen, after which you can simply slide back on the panels to remove them. Repeat this in reverse to re-install, but before then, we should really install some components, right? To remove the front cover, simply pull up from the bottom, being careful not to break any clips. In terms of fans, we are keeping them exactly where they are, as we will install our AIO at the top. Before we go any further, take your time to remove the panels and store them in a safe place.
02 THE CRANIUM
With our case stripped, we can put it to the side and start adding parts to our motherboard. Of course, everything has to connect to this, as it’s the most fundamental part of the build, but we don’t need to add it to the case just yet. It’s much easier to add as much as we can externally.
