How does the Institute differ from a traditional university department such as a school of history?

In some ways the Institute is like a traditional university department offering degrees and hosting a variety of research projects. The Institute is already home to a well-established variety of learning opportunities in genealogy, ranging from beginner level short courses and free online courses to a world-leading, online master’s degree and a PhD pathway in History with Genealogical Studies.
