We wrote about this electric outboard in last month’s New Gear pages and now I’ve had a chance to try it for myself on my own 2.3m Lodestar inflatable. The idea behind it makes perfect sense; rather than mounting the battery on top of the shaft, like the engine on an old-school petrol outboard, Remigo has integrated it into the shaft and shaped it like a rudder to minimise drag and maximise steering effect.
