Visiting HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK

MOST NATIONAL PARKS are known for being an escape from civilization, but Hot Springs National Park is a bit unique. Located right in the town of Hot Springs, Arkansas, this park has historic buildings, a brewery, mountainous scenery, geothermal features, and luxurious indoor activities, all within an urban setting. It’s unlike any other national park we’ve visited! In this article, I’m sharing everything you need to know before you go.

History of Hot Springs National Park

Hot Springs National Park is just an hour southwest of Little Rock, surrounded by the Ouachita Mountains. In 1832, the area became protected as the Hot Springs Reservation, making it the oldest park now managed by the National Park Service, before officially becoming a national park in 1921.
