This YEAR, LIKE so many, has gone extremely quickly and it really is madness that we are now heading into autumn at full speed. The weather has also now sadly becime colder and there are leaves everywhere. One problem with having birds in aviaries is the constant battel of removing old leaf litter, as if this is left it will cause many problems during winter.

We have been busyreedlings (). These are tricky little birds to catch, as their enclosure is well planted. We then caught and visually sexed two young Emei Shan liocichlas (), which have turned out to be one male and one female. These have been removed from their parents and moved to a holding aviary before they leave the collection.
