CHRYSLER LANCER
Chrysler/Mitsubishi decided Holden wasn’t going to be the only one with a small coupe and so introduced the Chrysler Lancer liftback in mid 1977 as part of the LB range. The stylish coupe had sports seats and a dash full of gauges, arrow decals, and saw reasonable showroom success. Come May 1979 the new LC Lancer range saw the sedan dropped. The new coupe had rectangular headlights, painted bumpers and a five-speed manual 'box. Power was from a SOHC version of the 4G32 engine dubbed G32B. It was rebranded the Mitsubishi Lancer in 1981 and bowed out in August the same year. There aren't many left and are an alternative to the less sporty Gemini.
