The pandemic impacted Tony Kanaan’s quarter-century auto racing career in multiple ways back in 2020. First, the world-renowned Brazilian driver’s NTT IndyCar Series retirement plans were stymied because he could not take a celebratory lap to honor fans in what would have been his final season. Then, in an unexpected twist, Kanaan (TK) and fellow professional drivers realized an opportunity to expand their careers virtually by embracing simulation or sim racing.
