Several of the former Moore-McCormack cargo ships, now highly modified, remainhas been serving as the training ship Empire State VI (T-AP-1001) since 1989 for the State University of New York Maritime College but she was sold for demolition in Brownsville, Texas late last year, with a replacement ship now under construction.
