African Union (AU) was formally admitted to the Group of 20 (G20) at the bloc’s 18th summit, hosted in New Delhi, India, in September. The admission to full membership is significant, allowing for representative equivalence for the AU with that of the European Union (EU), and holds significant possibilities in the representation of African interests in global geopolitics, particularly with regard to fiscal policy, debt repayment, and climate change.
