My evolution, or ‘re-evolution’, as a ceramic artist was steered into new, more promising horizons in early 2023 when I went on to create the Piedra Escrita ceramic tile series that was inspired by the La Piedra Escrita petroglyph stone in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. Carved by the Taino people, this prime example of prehistoric rock art is a visually rich testament to the legacy of Puerto Rico’s indigenous origins.
