What’s the story?

Samsung’s latest watch is still one for Android phone owners, offering many of the same fitness features that were packed into the Galaxy Watch5.

That includes performing a body composition analysis that you’d usually need to step on smart scales to do, tracking everything from swims to big bike rides, and even counting the reps for sets of crunches.

Samsung has given the Watch6 more runner appeal with a track running mode, while adding the ability to create custom heart-rate zones to make sure you’re always hitting the right effort levels.

That’s all done inside a waterproof design that comes in two sizes, each with a new processor, slimmer bezels and a bigger battery than before.

Is it any good?

Samsung can’t match the best sports watches in the business, but what it does well is gently motivate you to move more. This year’s model can also track sleep with strong accuracy, and even detect snoring and skin temperature.

It has a strong suite of health smarts, including an ECG sensor and the ability to track blood pressure once it’s been calibrated with an external monitor.
