Nutcracker Christmas

Christmas in the Lerner home is an all-out affair. “My husband jokes that this is ‘the Christmas house,’” homeowner and interior designer Ashley Lerner admits. She starts her decorating in October and has no shame about celebrating her favorite time of year early.

The Lerners moved into their current ballet, the tree is a representation of traditions from Ashley’s childhood that she’s passed on to her children. Growing up as a dancer, she developed a love for the ballet and for nutcrackers and has instilled this love in her own three kids. “Every year, we go pick out a new nutcracker or two to put up in the house,” she explains. “It’s become a special tradition for us that we look forward to every year.”
