Nestled in the enchanting province of KwaZulu-Natal, where lush landscapes seamlessly intertwine with a rich cultural heritage, a troubling darkness looms over many communities. Our province is ensnared in a web of violent crime, characterised by mass killings, gender-based violence (GBV), and other societal afflictions, all stemming from the insidious influence of rival gangs dominating certain areas.

We grapple with alarmingly high rates of violent crime, with women and children bearing the brunt of this crisis, earning us the unfortunate distinction of consistently topping the nation’s murder
