After sitting out the first sequel, Sam Neill’s Dr Alan Grant returned for this Steven Spielberg-free instalment, which leaned heavily on the connections between dinosaurs and birds. Still, it had its moments – like the one involving the dwindling human survivors discovering the rope bridge they’re on is in an aviary of blood-thirsty pteranodons. (2001)
