CITROËN 2CV (1948-1990)

Conceived in the 1930s and put into large scale production in 1948, it seemed unfeasible that the Citroën 2CV would still appear on new car price lists in the late 1980s – the era of yuppies and double glazing very different indeed from the early post-war years. However, the pioneering deux chevaux endured, and its combination of entertaining driving characteristics, room for four, decent luggage space and a bargain-basement price tag meant it still found buyers just as it had done when launched four decades previously.
