Turn a tablet into a Chromecast

I have fond memories of my first tablet, the Google Nexus 7, back in 2013. Although its 7in screen wasn’t much bigger than my current smartphone’s and it had a measly 8GB of memory, it seemed like the height of sophistication 10 years ago.

Most importantly, the Nexus 7 was cheap, unlike Google’s new Pixel Tablet, which costs from £599). Our review in Issue 663 (page 24) didn’t convince me to shell out, especially the part that said the tablet “attracts dirt like a magnet” – for six hundred quid I’d at least expect it to keep itself clean.
