PRICE IS THE ULTIMATE LOCAL HERO ON WOODPECKER HISTORICS

Joe Price and Chris Brooks ensured that the glory of Ludlow was maintained after a superb performance to win the historic element of the Woodpecker Stages, round five of the British Historic Rally Championship.

The local driver brought his Ford Escort Mk2 home just 11 seconds up on the four- wheel-drive Mitsubishi Galant VR4 of George Lepley and Dale Bowen after a long, hot and dusty day in the Welsh borders.

There were really three winners on this event.
