LNER J94 ‘Austerity’ 0-6-0ST (N)

EFE Rail is to launch its first N scale steam locomotive of the ubiquitous War Department Austerity 0-6-0ST. A coreless motor, six-pin DCC decoder (micro decoder recommended) and NEM coupling pockets are promised. Six models are to form the initial release, hinting at possibly more to follow…

BR Standard 9F (OO)

Following recent upgrades, Bachmann Branchline's BR Standard 9F is to incorporate a Plux22 DCC interface and pre-fitted speaker. New tooling now produced will see the ‘Tyne Dock’ locomotives miniaturised, which were fitted with air pumps for operating the wagon doors on these heavyweight and revered trains. Two models are to be depicted in heavily-weathered condition. Sound-fitted models are to use a bespoke sound project.

CEP Electric Multiple Unit (OO)

Bachmann's Branchline model has been revised with new bodyshells portraying the work undertaken when the real units were refurbished. Hopper window ventilators and relocated brake compartments from the two driving vehicles to a single trailer vehicle will feature. The first release to utilise this new tooling depicts Class 411/9 3-CEP No. 1199 in South West Trains livery, to be joined by blue/grey Class 422/7 4-TEP – a unit formed of three refurbished CEP vehicles and an un-refurbished buffet vehicle from a BEP unit. Models require a single DCC decoder for use on DCC systems, or can be purchased in sound-fitted format.

Other news…

Meanwhile, its Class 158 DMU for ‘OO’ will see new liveries of South West Trains, Transport for Wales, Northern and Central Trains, and its Class 37 Railfreight red stripe livery is to feature for the in BR blue large logo livery. Each is available in standard, sound-fitted and sound-fitted ‘Deluxe’ formats.
