Power struggle
THE SA Communist Party (SACP) had to intervene in the factional battles which have divided the organisation's structures in Gauteng.
The battles are over a power struggle within the party.
The power struggle is between the SACP’s provincial secretary, Jacob Mamabolo and his first deputy secretary, Mpapa Kanyane.
The party intervened after Kanyane and provincial executive committee (PEC) members Lulama Nare, Phir Matsemela and the Young Communist League’s Gauteng secretary Kgabo Morofi
