DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY

Thrilled to be immortalised in new set of stamps

A set of stamps honouring Dame Shirley Bassey’s 70-year career in showbusiness has been issued by Royal Mail. Dame Shirley, 86, is the first solo female music artist to be recognised in a stamp collection, with sets previously having been dedicated to fellow music legends David Bowie, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John.

The eight stamps include images of the star performing in London in the 1960s and singing at the opening ceremony at the Oscars in 2013.
