They appeared in court two days later, pleaded guilty to the charge, and were fined CI$1,000 ($1,200.37 USD). “Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license,” Hadid’s representative told . “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.” The incident was a minor hiccup in her vacation plans, as she immediately resumed sharing images on Instagram touting a return to normalcy. “All’s well that ends well,” Hadid wrote. Recreational cannabis isn’t legal in the Cayman Islands, and neither is import or export of cannabis products, even if they’re prescribed for medical use.
