EVEN in a world filled with the young and the gifted, there was something extra-special about Mason Greenwood. He was big, strong and quick, a boy wizard equally brilliant on his left foot and his right. “He had everything,” Nicky Butt, former footballer and past head of Manchester’s United’s development academy says. “It was ridiculous. A genius.”
Alex Ferguson, the club’s legendary manager, had similar sentiments. In 2016, three years before Greenwood made his record-breaking debut for the Red Devils as a 17-year-old, he had his eye on him.
When asked which young player he rated the highest, he replied
