There are three English style ridden classes most commonly included in almost every Western Performance Show. These classes are Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation and Hunter Hack.
If you’re just starting out and would like to be competitive in the Hunter classes, go along and watch them at a western performance show, and take note of the style of English tack that competitors are using in the arena. For any class, you’ll want to strive to look and be your best. So, part of your preparation is to ensure that all your saddlery and tack is legal, as per the rulebook.
