Windscribe famously has a generous 10GB per month free tier, which is what draws a lot of users to the service. However, its paid-for Pro service is also great value, at $9 per month or $69 per year. At current exchange rates, that’s around £7 and £54, with the latter working out at £4.50 per month. There are no hidden renewal fees, concealed VAT or other unpleasant surprises here, and the Canadian VPN is conspicuously independent.
Although Windscribe allows a theoretically unlimited number of devices to connect simultaneously on paid-for subscriptions, you can only have five WireGuard connections operating at a time. When a sixth device attempts to connect using that protocol, you’ll be asked if you wish to delete the oldest key in favour of creating a new one for the connection being established. And be warned that Windscribe states: “No one has 30 personal computers that all need a VPN enabled simultaneously or 25 phones that all need a VPN connection at the same time. This sort of extreme use will almost always get your account banned.”
