For several years now, the future has been promised to us in the form of “The Metaverse”. Everyone has a different definition of what it actually is, but most seem to land on imagining a Matrix-like VR-headset world in which we exist as 3D avatars, travelling through different decentralised, 3D experiences, similar to how we browse the web today.
