Fast Bikes

BRUCE IN BRIEF…

I was super excited to try the BMW on track, curious to see just how differently it performed to the S 1000 RR, which I tested the back endwheel floating skyward, it became susceptible to the odd headshake, which wasn't ideal. Weirdly, and counter-intuitively to what I'm saying about the bike's pitch, I was so impressed by how quickly the Beemer changed direction with minimal effort. Aesthetically, it is a huge bike, backed up by ginormous ergonomics that would have you believe it's been built the likes of some 1990s throwback wrestler, but in truth, it proved to be super lithe, undoubtedly aided by the lightweight carbon wheels it features. The best bit for me, though, was the engine. It is a fire-breather, but it delivers its power in a manageable, playful way. It doesn't rip your arms off, but it does put your eyes to the back of their sockets. This thing is a rocket.
