TOSS OF A COIN

Here we go, a head-to-head duel amongst two warriors of the off-road world. It's fair to say that 300cc two-strokes are the go-to bike for the Australian trail and enduro scene and we are pretty spoilt for choice these days. Beta, KTM, Sherco, Husqvarna, Rieju, GASGAS, and TM all produce these torque monsters. When you factor in at least four of the manufacturers have special edition versions of their 300s, you could say we're living in the golden age of 300cc two-strokes.

If that's not enough to make you wonder which bike is for you, there's also the option for an old-school carburetted engine or a modern-day injected two-stroke. The options seem endless but one thing's for sure, it's a really cool time to be a 300cc two-stroke dirtbike enthusiast!

The two bikes at our disposal are the best of the best when it comes to each brands’ 300cc two-strokes. In the red corner is the Beta RR300 Racing. This bike has been killing it in the World Enduro Championship and the Italian manufacturer has come out swinging for 2023 with some very important changes.

In the blue corner is the sexy Sherco 300 SE Factory.

IT'S BEEN A gloomy month for me and the Condo 750. Days before sending this issue to the printers, I managed to crash my bike and snap my fibula. I'd like to say it was doing something exciting but it wasn't. I was rolling down a hill with the engine
