REBUILDING THE SFV204 SEAT BOX

While the front axle components are away at the sandblasters and I am making the new kingpin bronze bearings, etc, I thought I would look at the seat box.

Missing

Ever since we first got the tractor, I have been aware that the seat box had been “got at”, most probably sometime during its working life. The tractor came to us minus a seat. There is a plate where the seat is mounted with several slots to allow the seat position to be adjusted. This is present but has more or less rusted beyond use.

In fact, from the diagram in the parts book, it is apparent that the front section is missing, which should cover over the battery under the seat. The seat,
