ALTERNATIVELY…

Samsung QE65QN900C

If it’s cutting-edge tech you want, and lots of it, then you’ve come to the right place. The QE65QN900C is absolutely brimming with it… but it’ll cost you. Of course it will.

This is an 8K telly, which means it fits four times as many pixels in its 65in panel as the equivalent 4K set does, and it uses Mini LEDs to backlight its pixel-heavy LCD panel. They’re just 1/40th of the size of the more common backlighting LEDs, and the advantagesobvious: the dimming zones can be far more numerous, and far better targeted, which means backlighting should be more accurate. 8K content is thin on the ground to put it mildly, so to upscale 4K content to fit its colossal resolution it uses machine learning and AI-based processing that draws on the power of over 50 neural networks.
