LOST GAMES

■ The most infamous lost game of the Ultimate era is , the fifth and final Sabreman adventure. We put this 105, confirming that some design work was done and the cover art was created, but no actual coding took place – despite what people have claimed over the years. There were also several conversions that never made it, including a version of for the BBC Micro by Paul Proctor that went unreleased despite being finished. Later, Ultimate’s final release was being converted to the C64 by Lynsoft and was partially complete before the plug was pulled on account of it running too slowly. Both games have since surfaced online.
