ARRAKIA ELDERS, Darwin locals and conservationists are taking a stand against a proposed 800-house. The site also has a deep cultural significance to the Larrakia Traditional Owners. The community has been hosting vigils every Sunday night. A petition from the Ecological Society of Australia has been signed by more than 300 scientists in opposition to the development.
