WHERE TO BUY A REFURBISHED COMPUTER

There are plenty of sites selling refurbished computers, which means you can afford to be choosy about the price, condition and specifications of your as-new PC or laptop. Here we recommend the best five places to buy from, to ensure you get a bargain from a trustworthy source.

Back Market

Although Back Market is best known for reselling phones (see page 56), it has a massive range of refurbished computers. On our most recent visit, its listings included nearly 1,200 desktop PCs and over 5,300 laptops, spanning all the main manufacturers, product lines and operating systems.

Prices are impressively low – we found plenty of deals for less than £150 – and delivery is free, with a 30-day returns policy and a one-year minimum warranty on all items (see screenshot below). Note that there is a £2.99 fee for ‘quality assurance’, plus optional damage cover from £30.
