Viva la France!

The 2023 Rugby World Cup from 8 September to 28 October is a highlight on the international sports calendar, and this year there’ll be matches in nine stadiums around France. Here’s more about this major sporting event and some of France’s main attractions.

THE WORLD CUP

The Rugby World Cup is a quadrennial (every four years) world championship for national rugby teams.

It’s exactly 200 years since William Webb Ellis is believed to have “invented” rugby as a sport in 1823 and this is the 10th men’s rugby world cup.
