Mini 1/10-scale on-road cars are such a cool segment of the hobby. These quirky little cars never fail to capture my interest, bringing a smile to my face in the process. Of all the mini models released over the years, Tamiya has had the most that have caught my eye. I recall walking into my local hobby shop as a kid and seeing the wall adorned with several Tamiya kits, all with spectacular box art to feast my eyes upon.

One such kit was of a peculiar little race car from Fiat, the 1000 TCR. This unique kit included a highly detailed body complete with the car’s signature always-open rear engine hatch, a detail that only added to its appeal. This particular kit included Tamiya’s M-02 mini chassis and was released way back in 1995.
