Monster SincK

BY VIRTUE of being a successful England international, Kyle Sinckler is no stranger to performing on TV. However, when his rugby career eventually does come to an end, that element of his life may still persist.

“I really enjoy drama,” explains the tighthead prop. “The boys think I’m winding them up when we talk about life after rugby and I say ‘Mate, genuinely, in the next ten years or so, you might see me as an extra on Corrie or on Top Boy or something!’ And they laugh! But we’ll see.”

Scrum star to soap star. There have been wilder journeys. And it’s fair to say we’ve seen plenty of on-field passion to suggest that a shouting match on Coronation Street would not be too far outside Sinckler’s wheelhouse.

So, where did these thespian instincts spring from? Sinckler describes the sixth-form scholarship he received to attend Epsom College as “life-changing” and although that is primarily for rugby and academic reasons, it’s also where he trod the boards as a teenager.

“I was in all the school plays. I did drama A-level, so the exam was the play,” Sinckler tells . “I can’t remember exactly what we did but I just absolutely loved it. I was good at learning lines but I could learn
