"Ifeel like I’ve been knighted now that I’m in Classic Rock,” says Pelle Almqvist, charismatic frontman with Swedish garage-rockers The Hives. “I guess we’ve been at it for so long that we’re now considered part of that genre.”

The pugnacious quintet have actually been at it for 30 years, although it wasn’t until 2001’s Your New Favourite Band compilation (issued on Alan McGee’s Poptones label) that they broke through internationally. The much-anticipated The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons is the band’s first studio album in over a decade.
