For Mary Ipser, travel is the spice of life – and it’s this adventurous spirit that’s taken the 83-year-old Cape Town granny to nearly 80 countries over the course of her life.

Watching her breeze around her home in Bellville, Cape Town, that she shares with her husband, Claude (80), it’s hard to believe just over a year ago doctors were telling her that her travelling days were over.
