Time to put him out to pasture?

Q I currently keep my veteran on full livery, but as I no longer ride him I’m thinking about moving him to a yard which offers retirement livery. What are the differences between the two?

The main difference between full livery and retirement livery is that a full livery yard will have horses coming and going to be ridden or taken out to competitions, so it could be that your retired horse is sometimes left on his own in a field or a stable for periods of time. Full livery yards are often busy environments, too, with lots going on, which can be stressful, especially if a horse isn’t used
