THERE’S a bee in my bonnet. Well, actually, there are about 20,000 bees in my bonnet. The bonnet is the thatched roof of my cottage, and the honeybees took up residence a few years ago. Unobserved, the colony moved in through a gap between thatch and bargeboard to the loft cavity above my mother’s bedroom window.
