HOLDIN’ OUT FOR A HERO

The wraps are off after 12 months of undercover activity between the world’s premier historic rally events company, HERO-ERA and global world championship-winning motorsport and advanced engineering company Prodrive. Prodrive transformed a rusting 1967 Mustang Fastback into a state-of-the-art historic desert rally machine to take on major endurance events.

It was launched to the applause of hundreds of historic motor sports enthusiasts at the Bicester Heritage Flywheel event on June 17. The occasion was attended by Prodrive chairman David Richards CBE and HERO-ERA chairman Tomas de Vargas Machuca as well as some of the event’s 15,000 weekend visitors. Also on hand was ex-F1 driver and Le Mans winner Jackie Oliver who watched as they pulled the covers off the 400bhp V8 long-range rally challenger.
