Traditionally, East Coast rod and custom enthusiasts have headed to York, Pa., during the first weekend of June for the National Street Rod Association’s popular “East Coast Nats.” But there’s an alternative. The Greenwich (Conn.) Concours d’Elegance is in its 28th year. A two-day show, with a Saturday focus on sports cars and the Sunday spotlight on exotics and Classics, Greenwich takes place in a lovely harbor-side park adjacent to a posh, little eponymous village.

For the last few years, amidst a wide array of show cars, Greenwich has presented several serious hot rod displays. Last year, it featured the “Rolling Bones.” This year, the event’s Grand Marshal, Wayne Carini, brought several cars. There was a small but red-hot class of flamed “On Fire” rods and customs, and Ross Myers and his crew displayed six stellar historic hot rods from the 3Dog Garage Museum in Boyertown, Pa.
