A few weeks back at Computex, Asrock unveiled a pair of interesting motherboards: The Z790 Taichi Lite and the B650E Taichi Lite. I’ve just received the Z790 version for review, which will appear in next month’s APC. The idea behind the Lite series is simple. They’re otherwise identical to their existing Z790 and B650E Taichi counterparts, but with a simpler – and importantly, cheaper aesthetic.
The concept behind these motherboards got me thinking a bit about the overall motherboard market. There are cheap boards, mid-priced boards and expensive boards. Fundamentally,
