A CHARMING home produced Dartmoor lead-rein pony fought off all competition to land the overall supreme title at Equifest's first running at its new venue.
In an electric atmosphere on the final evening, Emily Lawrence's six-year-old Seves Stand And Deliver (George) was foot-perfect throughout for tiny jockey Margo Newman – also six —and handler Kerinder Bhogal.
“We were looking for an animal that's classy and stands out, and we wanted it to be of type for the class it was representing,” said supreme judge Robert Walker, who officiated alongside wife Sarah. “Our supreme – although still a novice – oozed quality for its type, and the reserve was a lovely model of a small hunter. The second reserve was exactly what a first ridden should be – looking after its little jockey – and the fact that both ponies were Dartmoors was pure coincidence.”
