WHO LIVES HERE? Julie Doyle, 47, a freelance PR, my husband Richard, 49, a systems analyst, and our daughter Alice, 10. We live in a three-bedroom, semi-detached home in Orpington, Kent.
WHAT WAS UPDATED? We moved the kitchen into the original conservatory area and opened up the snug to be part of the sitting room, but with sliding doors to close it off when needed.
WHY THE CHANGE? We wanted a more open-plan living space. The conservatory was a waste of space and we hated having the kitchen at the front of the house.
