Houses designed by the Knoxville architect George Barber typically are wildly asymmetrical and highly ornamented Queen Anne Revival confections. In red brick, this one displays a bit of New England restraint.
“This is the only George Barber-designed house in Vermont,” says John Dumville about his Built in 1895, it’s in South Royalton, a village in the center of the Green Mountain State. “Before I bought it, I knew nothing about George Barber.”
