CIVIL WAR ACCESSORY

I really enjoyed “Rambling” in the Spring 2023 issue discussing Chris Utley and his handkerchiefs. Those Civil War handkerchiefs all have a story to tell. All reenactors should add this finishing touch of authenticity to their uniforms. That’s what makes Civil War history so fascinating. And as for “Old Jack,” I also admire him for his devout Christian beliefs.

JOHN ROGERS, SCULPTOR

I enjoyed Gary (Wesleyan University Press 1967). There are a number of small museums around the country displaying Rogers’ artwork. The largest single collection is at Harold Warp’s Pioneer Village in Minden, Neb., with at least 100 pieces.
