MARKO DIMITRIJEVIC

Marko Dimitrijevic wears many hats – not only is he the founder of real-estate developer Volta Global and a published author, but he is also a celebrated wildlife photographer with a passion for the natural world. He took this playful picture of a whale shark off the Yucatán Peninsula, where it is not uncommon to see pods of up to 50 whales gather in summer.

Swimming with these imposing creatures is a surprisingly relaxing. “They might be over 10 metres long, but all they're interested in doing is scooping plankton into their mouths like big vacuum cleaners and they're really oblivious to our presence because we're so small compared with them,” says Dimitrijevic.
