With my son and daughter flying the nest, I finally had a bit of space where I could build a small layout. I'd had a basic trackplan in my mind for a long time, it was just a question of getting around to doing something about it.

I wanted a layout that resembled a setting that could have been a real place and it needed to be interesting to operate, so a terminus station with a run around and goods depot with shunting was essential.
