Jeremy Corbyn and Len McCluskey have written and edited an anthology of radical political poetry, Poetry for The Many, to be published in the autumn. The title is derived from Percy Bysshe Shelley’s famous poem, ‘The Mask of Anarchy’, which ends ‘Ye are many – they are few.’

Twitter sets a low bar, and in June Corbyn posted the last verse of Shelley’s masterpiece on his account, where he was roundly scorned for what was perceived to be his own poor versifying and pretentiously dated vocabulary (Shelley, in his defence, was versifying in 1819).
